Position Overview
Job Title: Relationship Banker I
Responsible for providing superior customer service, sales, and relationship management while meeting or exceeding performance goals. Acts as the single point of contact for customers, helping them match their needs with First United Bank products and services and mentoring staff to do the same.
ResponsibilitiesThe Relationship Banker will:
• Maintain a basic knowledge of all First United Bank products, services, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Follow proper procedures accurately and efficiently for all customer‑servicing activities.
• Retain existing customers and develop new customer relationships.
• Serve as customers’ single point of contact for all First United Bank products and services.
• Consistently meet and often exceed performance goals and participate in sales campaigns, promoting new products and educating customers.
• Participate in meetings, bank functions, and community events as requested.
• Offer excellent customer service, building rapport and generating loyalty.
• Identify and match customer product needs through interviewing and recommending appropriate products and departments.
• Open new accounts, certificates of deposit, and ancillary products, ensuring proper paperwork and system entry.
• Assist with routine customer inquiries (balance, statements, payments, etc.) and process transactions (checks, deposits, wire processing, notary services) with minimal errors.
• Maintain drawer limits, perform cash verifications, vault duties, and account reconciliation.
• Verify transactions, place holds as required, and close out cash drawer for compliance.
• Resolve customer complaints and account issues proactively.
• Perform security functions, including opening/closing bank and vault and ensuring overall safety.
• Master the primary purpose and essential duties of the Relationship Banker I position.
Employee Specifications- High school diploma preferred; some college preferred.
- One year of retail experience preferred.
- Cash handling experience preferred.
- Superior customer service skills required.
- Basic mathematics for problem solving.
- High accuracy and detail orientation.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
