Position OverviewThe Mail Specialist is responsible for preparing incoming and outgoing mail for distribution at Eagle Post. May load and unload postal trucks and move mail around the University. Operates equipment as related to mail services. Provides guidance to campus community on Postal rules and regulations. Performs customer service.
Minimum QualificationsHigh School diploma/GED equivalent and two years of postal office or mail services. Can substitute United States Postal Service (USPS) certification of experience.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
Working knowledge of postal practices, methods, and regulations.
Skill in basic filing and recordkeeping.
Skill in evaluating facts or situations to route calls/customers appropriately.
Skill in courteous communications with public in various communication modes.
Manual dexterity and physical ability to perform work requiring standing, stooping, lifting, walking, and some weather exposure.
Ability to learn a delivery/pick-up route.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.
Valid driver's license.
