Job SummaryThe Financial Aid & Scholarships (FAS) department at the University of North Texas is hiring a Financial Aid Administrator to join our Scholarship Management System Team. The role supports the Assistant Director, maintains and develops UNT's scholarship management system (Blackbaud Award Management), and provides customer service and process support. The position handles multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment, ensuring continuity and efficiency from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain the UNTs scholarship management system (Blackbaud Award Management), assist with site management, support existing users, onboard new users, and implement improvements.
- Provide training, guidance, and written policy/procedures to department users and advisory staff; serve as main point of contact for system questions.
- Maintain and apply knowledge of federal, state, and institutional rules and regulations regarding scholarships and financial aid; recommend policy improvements.
- Process scholarship awards to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
- Assist with financial aid scholarship customer service and processing tasks.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Three years of student services or related roles, or equivalent education, training, or experience.
- Must maintain good standing on federal student loans and grant NSLDS access for hire & continued employment.
- Experience working within a Financial Aid Office.
- Knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations regarding the administration of financial aid.
- Prior experience with Blackbaud Award Management or a similar scholarship management system.
- Integrity, honesty, and responsibility with a desire to contribute to a team.
- Experience working with all levels of management.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proven ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and strong attention to detail.
- Strong presentation and organizational skills; ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in customer service.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Excel and data‑analysis experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- In-depth knowledge of financial aid processes, policies, and procedures, or the ability to learn them quickly.
- Problem‑solving, multi‑tasking, and organization in a fast‑paced collaborative environment.
- Effective communication.
- Develops and maintains effective working relationships.
Security-sensitive position; requires background check. Must be able to communicate with others and can exchange information.
Occasional evenings and weekends.
No driving required.
