Position OverviewThe Department of Studio Art seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor pool and welcomes applicants at any time. This position is for Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027. The specific courses vary from semester to semester and openings to teach these courses develop periodically, depending on department teaching needs.
The anticipated need for Adjunct Instructors may include but is not limited to teaching ASTU courses in Figure Drawing, Ceramics, Drawing & Painting, Metalsmithing & Jewelry, New Media Art, Photography, Printmaking, Rotating Topics, and Sculpture. Classes meet Mon/Wed or Tue/Thu in 3-hour sessions: 8am-10:50am, 11:10am-2pm, 2:20pm-5:10pm, and evenings.
Minimum QualificationsTerminal Degree or equivalent experience in the field of visual arts, studio arts, or closely related field.
Preferred QualificationsExperience teaching higher education or equivalent. Demonstrated exhibition record or equivalent.
Physical RequirementsCommunicating with others to exchange information.
Environmental HazardsNo adverse environmental conditions expected.
Work ScheduleVaries based on assignment.
