Compensation is competitive and commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and discipline, in accordance with university guidelines and available funding.
The Division of Vocal Studies has fourteen full‑time faculty, one adjunct faculty, and eight graduate teaching fellows. Over 80 students pursue Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees in vocal performance, while more than 100 music majors study voice as a concentration or receive secondary lessons. Faculty teach Applied Lessons, Vocal Pedagogy, English Diction, French Diction, German Diction, Italian Diction, Vocal Literature, Collaborative Piano, Class Voice, and are responsible for UNT Opera productions.
We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or Yoruba.
Position OverviewThe Division seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor pool for the Fall 2026, Spring 2027 and Summer 2027 semesters. The specific courses may vary from semester to semester, depending on departmental teaching needs.
Responsibilities- Provide Applied Voice Lessons
- Teach courses in Lyric Diction
- Teach courses in Operatic or Vocal Literature
Master of Music in vocal performance; professional experience as a vocal soloist.
Preferred QualificationsExtensive experience as a professional vocal soloist and experience teaching at the college/university level.
Physical RequirementsCommunicating with others to exchange information.
