Department SummaryAs the most-used service on campus and an essential component of education and research at the University of North Texas, the Libraries offer access to more than 6 million items (print and digital) along with expert personnel to assist patrons in achieving their academic and scholarly goals.
We provide innovative programs and support to enhance the relationship between teaching and learning at the University of North Texas.
The Access Services Department promotes and provides access to the collections of the UNT Libraries. As part of the Public Services Division, we strive to meet the information and research needs of library patrons through the services we offer.
The University of North Texas Library is seeking to hire a Course Reserves and Material Delivery Coordinator to join our Access Services Department.
Under the supervision of the Resource Access Manager, this position oversees and manages the operations of the Willis Library Reserves collection and the fulfillment of reserves requests made by university faculty and subject librarians. This position is responsible for processing course reading materials, both print and electronic, and making them available to UNT students. This position also trains the Digitization student assistant on physical material scanning and accessibility editing processes associated with reserves and oversees their reserves activities daily.
This position contributes to evaluating workflows, updates manuals and procedures, upholds copyright policies, ensures accessibility, and maintains catalog records related to reserves collection. This position manages the Willis Library Self-Service Pickup, Faculty Delivery and Library Faculty/Staff Delivery Services, as well as the Willis Library Locker Service. This position also provides secondary support to the services desk by assisting with various user accounts/fines and fees tasks as needed.
Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
- Manages the Reserves service, sets goals and priorities. Ensures that requests are being processed according to established time frames and the service is high quality, efficient and timely for patrons.
