Department SummaryThe Toulouse Graduate School within the Division of Research & Innovation promotes and supports graduate student education by overseeing graduate student programs, professional development, and graduate student research engagement. TGS collaborates with departments in recruitment, admissions, and enrollment services to support and enhance the UNT graduate student experience and help students succeed both academically and in their future careers.
Position OverviewThe Program Associate Director for Research Education & Programming in the Toulouse Graduate School coordinates and manages programs, services, and initiatives that support the recruitment, development, engagement, and success of graduate students and postdoctoral scholars across the university. Reporting to the Program Director for Research Education & Programming, this position serves as a central resource for graduate students and postdoctoral researchers, develops professional and career development opportunities, supports community-building efforts, and collaborates with academic and research units to enhance the graduate student and postdoctoral experience and strengthen research outcomes.
Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in related field and four years of professional related experience; substitute education for experience only.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of program related state and federal laws and regulations.
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with various populations orally and in writing.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
- Master's degree in higher education, student affairs, or related field.
- Experience in program development, student services, or graduate education.
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience working with research staff, postdoctoral researchers.
- Coordinate Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Researcher Programs and Services:
Manage university-wide programs, resources, and support services that promote graduate student and postdoctoral scholar success, engagement, and retention. - Develop and Implement Professional Development Programs:
Design, coordinate, and assess workshops, training programs, funding opportunities, research compliance development, and career development opportunities that support graduate students and postdoctoral scholars' research, leadership, teaching, and professional growth. - Collaborate with Faculty, Research Units, and External Partners:
