Summary

Creates and modifies detail, assembly, and installation drawings and related documentation using 2D and 3D CAD tools under general guidance while exercising independent judgment in design decisions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Generate complete documentation packages: detail/assembly/installation drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), material specifications, GD&T tolerances, finish requirements, and trim/fastener detail.
  • Select design solutions (materials, geometry, sequencing) and assess trade‑offs for manufacturability, cost, weight, quality, and schedule.
  • Participate in design reviews, providing input on improvements, feasibility, and risk; propose design alternatives when obstacles arise.
  • Manage work within project schedules and budget constraints; anticipate conflicts or delays and prioritize tasks independently.
  • Maintain professional development by working closely with lead engineers and staying current with CAD tools, drawing standards, design methodologies, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate across teams and ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and company standards throughout the engineering lifecycle.
  • Maintain regular attendance, be at work, on time, and work full shifts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree (B.S) in engineering, minimum 2 years of relevant engineering experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Aviation background and aircraft interior experience preferred.

Employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person (US citizen, permanent resident not employed by a foreign entity, or political asylee).

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Computer‑Aided Drafting/Design skills (AutoCAD/Inventor preferred).
  • Knowledge of industry design and documentation standards, e.g., ASME.
  • Experience in manufacturing techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and cross‑functionally as part of an established and growing team.
  • Strong communication, time‑management, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Capacity to sit for extended periods, lift or move up to 10 pounds regularly, occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds, and adjust focus for close/color vision tasks.
  • Availability to travel as required.
  • Flexibility to work outside core business hours when necessary.
