Overview
The Associate Application Engineer, AMI based in Denton, Texas, reports to the Technical Product Manager - AMI and supports the development and implementation of advanced orbital welding solutions.
Responsibilities- Support the AMI product line in Denton with product enhancements, line improvements, and custom project deliverables.
- Actively pursue market needs strategies and value-added activities.
- Support the Sales Team in selling, demonstrating, and validating AMI Solutions.
- Assist in automation installations at end-user facilities and develop solutions to customer problems.
- Design and develop welding applications and processes in collaboration with senior engineers.
- Conduct welding tests and experiments to evaluate materials and techniques.
- Troubleshoot and resolve welding-related issues to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Integrate welding applications with existing manufacturing systems.
- Document welding procedures, techniques, and best practices.
- Maintain and calibrate welding equipment and tools.
- Provide technical support to production teams and clients.
- Participate in team meetings, project planning, and discussions.
- Stay updated with the latest welding technologies and industry standards.
- Develop and execute welding test plans to ensure process quality.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Welding or Metallurgical) or equivalent work experience.
- Strong experience with MS Office, particularly Excel; SAP experience is a plus.
- Ability to organize and assume responsibility with minimal supervision.
- Strong project management and leadership skills.

- Excellent communication, team, and people-development skills.
- Excellent organization and time-management skills.
- Technical competence in GTAW for general fabrication.
- Familiarity with working to a WPS and interpreting codes and standards.
- Ability to weld in all processes and positions at a certifiable level.
Stationary work 50% of the time with physical demands such as stairs, walking, stooping, and standing; PPE required when working or visiting manufacturing locations. May operate a computer and office equipment. Moves equipment up to 50 lb and pushes 200 lb using safety tools. Domestic travel 25-50% of the time.
