Project Manager - PDS TX - Gas Operations

Job Overview

Primoris Distribution Services (PDS), a division of Primoris Services Corporation, is a publicly owned and operated construction contracting company that provides both specific and turnkey services for its customers in the gas, oil, electric and telecommunications industry. PDS is an industry leader in the installation of gas lines (plastic and steel). We have an immediate opening for a Project Manager in Denton, TX.

This position will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of our new construction and replacement projects.

• Report to and assist Division Manager
• Participate in weekly team meetings
• Coordinate with direct project team
• Focus on Quality, Safety and Production
• Discuss obstacles encountered and work to resolve them
• Address action items related to obstacles and missing goals
• Have basic knowledge of forecasting project cost and revenues versus estimated/actual progress/results
• Provide real‑time feedback for your direct reports
• Maintain weekly dialogue around performance
• Conduct production performance reviews
• Keep up with WIP and ensure projects are invoiced timely and correctly
• Review production with Super/GF during weekly meetings
• Control weekly meetings reviewing job completion percentage and results
• Get to know your team
• Conduct site visits
• Prepare daily field reports and track them in Smartsheets
• Perform financial analysis and reporting
• Understand basic accounting fundamentals
• Analyze data
• Budget and track assigned work
• Demonstrate basic estimating skills
• Collect, estimate, and organize real cost to identify whether jobs and projects are tracking properly
• Outline action plans to correct poorly performing jobs and projects with support from field management
• Build and understand job tracking reports

• Construction degree/certification or at least 3 years previous experience in Project Management in Utilities (Gas, Electric, or Communications)
• Excellent analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize and plan work activities to be effective and efficient
• Comfortable and effective working in an environment with changing demands, delays, and responding to unexpected situations
• Proficient user of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; professional demeanor with all stakeholders
• Ability to work extended hours when necessary for business needs
• Highly motivated with a positive attitude
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record
• Bilingual Spanish skills desired, but not required
