The Product Cost Integration Specialist is embedded within new product development and cost management teams to ensure cost targets, supplier capability, and sourcing strategy are integrated into product decisions from the earliest stages of development. This role drives early supplier engagement, improves the quality and confidence of cost assumptions, and ensures engineering teams are supported through key sourcing and negotiation activities.
In addition, this role strengthens overall cost reduction effectiveness by improving the quality and confidence of cost savings estimates, enabling better prioritization of opportunities, and ensuring high-impact initiatives are executed through the most effective path—either within development program scope or through established cost reduction efforts.
The result is improved cost outcomes, reduced late-cycle cost recovery, and stronger alignment between engineering design, supplier execution, and organizational forecasts.
