Budget & Finance Manager, Merrilee Alexander Kick College of Business and Entrepreneurship
JOB SUMMARY
The Budget & Finance Manager will play a critical role in the financial operations of the Merrilee Alexander Kick College of Business and Entrepreneurship. This position is responsible for analyzing budgetary data, forecasting financial trends, identifying variances, and providing clear, actionable insights to support strategic decision-making within the College. The role also includes monitoring budget-to-actual performance, preparing financial reports, and offering support and training to departments on budget-related processes.
This position requires the ability to interpret organizational policies, procedures, and financial guidelines to provide accurate and effective guidance. The Manager will work closely with the Dean and College leadership to ensure financial integrity and efficiency. Performance is evaluated based on the successful completion of assignments and the impact of financial recommendations.

Dean, Merrilee Alexander Kick College of Business and Entrepreneurship
Supervises:
Business Manager, Student Assistants, and other clerical staff

EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related area required. Emphasis in accounting and/or finance is preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Four years of substantial and progressively responsible experience in budgeting, budget variance analysis and forecasting, accounting, or related area required. Experience working in a college or university environment preferred.
REQUIREMENT
Regular and reliable attendance at the University during regular scheduled days and work hours is an essential function of this position.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES - The following are essential:
- Knowledge of budgetary practices and accounting principles.
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures.
- Knowledge of financial methods and/or procedures used to analyze data.
- Knowledge of budget, accounting, and purchasing systems and processes.
- Ability to analyze numerical detail, identify patterns or trends, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to demonstrate analytical, problem solving, and research capabilities and communicate results in a clear and professional manner.
