Requisition Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst is an important member of the Peterbilt Corporate Accounting team. This position reports to the Warranty Accounting Manager and is responsible for various warranty analyses and monthly liability reserve reconciliations. The position interacts frequently with department managers, Corporate Accounting Controller and may participate in meetings with senior management.
Job Responsibilities- Responsible for preparing a monthly standard warranty reserve reconciliation.
- Serve as key business partner working directly with multiple departments to ensure accurate financial results.
- Perform actual to forecast analysis as part of month-end close and record accrual journal entries.
- Explain accounting and finance principles to non-finance business partners in a simple and straightforward manner.
- Drive proactive ad-hoc financial analysis by identifying what information is needed, where the data can be found and how it should be compiled, analyzed & presented.
- Actively participate in special projects utilizing analytical skills to make recommendations.
- Support PACCAR’s quarterly external 10Q, annual 10K and 11K processes.
- Participate in documentation and testing for Sarbanes Oxley.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 5+ years of work experience with Financial Analysis, reserve and expense analysis.
- MBA or MS in Accounting or related field.
- Experience with SQL and data visualization tools such as Tableau.
- Experience with SAP.
- Advanced analytical and Excel modeling skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills — including written and oral communication.
- Ability to effectively work with a variety of departments, management levels, cultures, and personalities.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and take initiative to produce results.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workload.
- Ability to work independently and self-motivate, multitask and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent follow through and attention to detail and accuracy.
- Attention to detail with the ability to understand the “big picture.”
