Our investment strategies span senior loans, mezzanine financing, bridge lending, construction loans, and special situations investments throughout the United States.
Position OverviewThe Financial Analyst will support the investment team in evaluating new lending opportunities, performing financial analysis, underwriting commercial real estate assets, monitoring portfolio performance, and preparing investment recommendations along with presenting loan packages to senior management. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and interested in building a career in real estate private credit.
Key Responsibilities- Investment Underwriting & Analysis
- Analyze prospective debt investments across multifamily, industrial, office, retail, hospitality, and specialty asset classes.
- Build and maintain financial models to evaluate loan structures, debt service coverage, loan-to-value ratios, and borrower creditworthiness.
- Conduct cash flow analysis, sensitivity testing, and downside scenario modeling.
- Review appraisals, market studies, engineering reports, environmental reports, and third-party due diligence materials.
- Preparing investment memoranda and underwriting packages for internal approval.
- Portfolio Management
- Monitor performance of existing loan investments and borrower compliance.
- Track portfolio metrics, covenant compliance, loan maturities, and risk indicators.
Support quarterly portfolio valuation and reporting processes. - Assist with borrower requests, modifications, extensions, and refinancing analyses.
- Market Research
- Conduct research on commercial real estate markets, sectors, and economic trends.
- Analyze comparable transactions, market rents, cap rates, and financing conditions.
- Prepare presentations and reports for senior management and investors.
- Capital Markets & Investor Reporting
- Assist in preparing investor reporting materials and portfolio updates.
- Support fundraising initiatives through data analysis and presentation preparation.
- Coordinate with lenders, brokers, legal counsel, and third-party service providers throughout the transaction lifecycle.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in commercial real estate, investment banking, private credit, lending, valuation, consulting, or corporate finance.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred
- Experience underwriting commercial real estate loans or investments.
- Familiarity with App Folio or Argus, CoStar, Bloomberg, or similar industry platforms.
- Understanding of commercial real estate capital structures and debt products.
- Professional designations are a plus.
