Position OverviewPromote, market, and facilitate the overall sale of banking products, contributing to the bank’s growth through the effective sale of services to new and existing customers with courteous and professional service.
FLSA Status:
Non‑Exempt.
Purpose:
Provide support to the VP Director of Automotive Lending to facilitate continued growth and maintain portfolio performance.
- Coordinate with loan operations and auto dealerships to follow up on missing documentation needed to fund applications.
- In the absence or direction of the loan officer, decide on submitted applications in a timely manner.
- Follow policies and procedures to facilitate processing for all non‑real estate (commercial, construction, residential, etc.), commercial equipment, and aircraft loans; complete all transactions in unison with loan officer and act as a liaison between Loan Officer and Loan Operations.
- Facilitate processing and document preparation for all consumer and commercial non‑real estate loans.
- Ensure that all required documentation is present in the loan request per the consumer/commercial checklist.
- Book consumer and commercial loans and make entries.
- Control funding—verify exception approvals/entries prior to release of loan for booking.
- Prepare and deliver the booking checklist to the SVP/Sr. Credit Officer within 72 hours of booking.
- Ensure necessary approvals have been obtained and scanned with the loan file.
- Verify data input on new and renewed loans.
- Maintain a productive workflow and collaborate as a member of a professional team.
- Scan and verify loan files and any other documentation in the imaging system.
- Set up and monitor loan documentation exception tracking and clearing.
- Maintain collateral, including processing vehicle title registrations and filing UCC financing statements/continuations.
- Quote and process loan payoffs.
- Maintain consumer credit disclosure mailings within regulations.
- Make a welcome call with new customers within 7 days of their auto loan funding to ensure they understand how to make their first payment.
- Verify customer insurance coverage meets requirements and contact customers as needed to ensure compliance.
- Process decisions on applications from auto dealers in a timely manner.
- Interpret consumer credit reports to minimize risk.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills on the phone, email, and text.
- Make sound business decisions in a fast‑paced environment, capturing new business within established policy and SOP.
- Apply strong negotiation skills, including the ability to say no.
- Some evening and Saturday hours are required.
- Cross‑train in all areas of the department and rotate duties periodically; train on new tasks as they are assigned.
- Troubleshoot and provide assistance to employees/customers on inquiries, service issues, disputes, etc.
- Attend all meetings and complete all required training to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Comply with all applicable Federal and State regulations and guidance related to the job function.
- Adhere to all BSA/AML/OFAC policies and procedures, including participation in required training and identification of suspicious activity.
- Perform additional duties as requested by management; accept periodic cross‑training and work in other branches if needed.
