Summary
This position is located in the Region 6, Grants Management Division. The ideal candidate will have experience leading in Federal assistance programs, policy implementation, compliance oversight, stakeholder engagement and leading teams to deliver effective and accountable grant operations.
DutiesIn this position, you will lead and direct Federal grants management programs. Typical assignments include:
- Interpreting and implementing grants statutes, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Providing expert advice on complex grants management issues.
- Overseeing grants administration, compliance, monitoring, audit resolution, and recipient performance.
- Collaborating with Federal, State, Tribal, territorial, local, nonprofit, and private‑sector stakeholders.
- Supervising managers, technical specialists, or multidisciplinary teams responsible for grants management operations and program delivery.
Note:
All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations. Employees may be required to relocate to emergency sites and perform duties beyond those specified in the official position description. Travel requirements may be extensive and may include deployments with limited advance notice.
- All selected applicants must pass a background investigation for Top Secret/SCI, which includes a credit check, financial review, and assessment of criminal history.
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens and must register with Selective Service.
- Current federal employees must meet time‑in‑grade requirements and have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent.
- Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a Government credit card.
- Applicants must be available for deployment anywhere in the United States and its territories for extended periods with little or no advance notice.
- The position is in the Schedule Policy/Career of the Excepted Service and will become competitive after two years of service (if applicable).
- One full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS‑14 level, demonstrating the skills needed to perform the duties of the position.
- Experience leading or managing Federal grants or cooperative agreement programs, including oversight of award administration, recipient compliance, and grants management policy implementation.
- Directing, coordinating, and overseeing the work of subordinate supervisors and/or project leaders.
- Current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service.
