This position is located in Region Six, Mitigation Division. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience serving as a Project Management Officer or similar role in FEMA's Mitigation programs, leading cross-functional projects from planning through closeout, managing front office taskings, and developing project charters, road maps, and performance tracking systems. Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service.
The qualification requirements listed below must be met by the closing date of this announcement. To qualify for this position at the GS-13 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:
- Coordinating projects, programs, or grant activities from planning through completion
- Providing guidance or technical assistance to internal or external stakeholders on program requirements, processes, or policies
- Preparing briefings, reports, decision documents, or other written products for leadership
- Facilitating meetings, working groups, or coordination efforts to resolve issues and improve program outcomes
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
