Paramedic (EMT-P) Emergency Department

Fast‑paced, high‑volume Emergency Department is looking for top‑skilled Paramedic.

Full time, evening shift (3 p.m. to 3 a.m.), three shifts, 36 hours per week. Weekend and holiday requirements. Complete benefits available.

• Paramedics work closely with physicians, RNs, respiratory therapy, and ancillary teams as valued members of the interdisciplinary ED care team.
• Hospital‑based paramedics function within a defined ED‑specific scope of practice, performing advanced clinical skills under direct physician supervision in accordance with Texas Health Resources protocols.
• Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team.
• Fast‑paced, high‑volume department averaging 100 – 200 patients per day.
• The professional paramedic exhibits understanding of basic human needs and demonstrates recognition and understanding of patient’s affiliations.

• Administer IV fluids (without additives), saline flushes, IV antibiotics, all IV medications excluding controlled and RSI medications; ACLS drugs (including drips) using barcode medication verification; all IM and oral medications excluding controlled drugs. Plan patient care.
• Complete accurate documentation in the electronic health record.
• Provide consistent attention to airway, intake, elimination, sleep, rest, mobility and hygiene needs.
• Apply antiembolic stockings and sequential compression devices.
• Manage cervical collars.
• Perform external defibrillation.
• Apply nasal cannula or oxygen mask.
• Insert and remove oral airway.
• Perform ultrasound‑guided peripheral IV access.
• Draw blood from ports.
• Other duties as assigned by the care team.

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• 3 months paramedic experience or completion of a paramedic internship required; 1 year paramedic experience in EMS or fire department preferred.
• EMT‑P or LP required.
• ACLS within 90 days of hire required.
• BCLS prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.
• PALS within 90 days of hire required.
• CPI within 60 days of hire required.
