Job Summary:
Provide specialized occupational therapy services to patients in a hospital setting, focusing on enhancing mobility, activities of daily living, and functional independence. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients’ physical and cognitive abilities to determine appropriate therapeutic interventions.
- Develop and execute treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs, including mobility and self-care activities.
- Document patient progress, treatment outcomes, and clinical notes accurately in the EMR system.
- Assist in managing complex trauma and neuro-related conditions, providing care consistent with best practices.
- Maintain high professionalism and accountability, working autonomously within scope of practice.
- Cover assigned shifts, including weekends and on-call rotations, as required by unit policies.
Qualifications:
- Valid PT or OT license in the state of Texas.
- Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience, including clinical rotations.
- Experience handling complex trauma and neuro patients preferred.
- Demonstrate strong assessment, planning, and documentation skills.
- Able to work independently with a high level of accountability.
- Effective communication and teamwork capabilities.
