The Woodcock Institute for the Advancement of Neurocognitive Research and Applied Practice advances interdisciplinary cognitive assessment and evidence-based clinical practice. It supports research into cognitive profiles of individuals with diagnosed exceptionalities and promotes effective clinical assessment practices through professional development opportunities, publications, and applied practice. Responsibilities

  • Therapeutic involvement: participate in individual and small group therapeutic intervention services.
  • Research and dissemination: engage in ongoing neurocognitive research, with opportunities for presentation and publication; collaborate with the Woodcock Institute and Texas Woman's University; develop and execute data collection plans with the Training Director.
  • Training plan: develop a tailored training plan with primary supervisors at each setting to address specific learning goals and professional development within the clinical and research contexts.
  • Schedule:

spend two days per week at the Woodcock Center for Autism and Neurodevelopment at Texas Woman's University (WeCAN) and three days per week at the community-based partnership in clinical neuropsychology private practice to gain experience in pediatric and adult assessment, intervention planning, and treatment.
Qualifications and candidate profile
  • Strong background in pediatric neuropsychological, cognitive, academic, and social-emotional assessment.
  • Experience with multidisciplinary diagnostic evaluations and evidence-based intervention approaches for individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders.
  • Ability to work effectively with families and collaborate within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Interest in pursuing research opportunities, including on-site projects and collaborations with Texas Woman's University and the Woodcock Institute; capacity to develop individual research goals with the Training Director during orientation and throughout the fellowship.
