A GTS public-sector customer is seeking an experienced Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments supporting enterprise Oracle SaaS platforms, including HCM, Financials, SCM, EPM, Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC), Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), and Autonomous Transaction Processing (ATP).
This role is responsible for ensuring system stability, performance optimization, quarterly updates, environment refreshes, and business continuity. The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Administrator will collaborate closely with infrastructure, security, database, and application teams and is expected to contribute positively to a collaborative, human-centered, innovative, accountable, transparent, and inclusive IT culture.
This is a 100% onsite role in Denton, TX. The position is contract-to-hire, and the expected conversion salary is $95,000 annually. A Bachelor’s degree is required for this role.
OCI Systems & Infrastructure Management (75%)
- Administer and maintain core Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) resources, including compute, storage, networking, and platform services.
- Manage Autonomous Transaction Processing (ATP) databases, including provisioning, patching, tuning, backup/recovery, and monitoring.
- Configure and support OCI virtual cloud networks (VCNs), subnets, gateways, routing tables, and load balancers in collaboration with network teams.
- Perform environment refreshes from production to lower environments to ensure consistency and reliability.
- Oversee system upgrades, patch management, and Oracle Cloud quarterly updates.
- Implement OCI resource tagging, quotas, and cost tracking to support governance and budget management.
- Coordinate with Oracle Support to resolve infrastructure performance or platform service issues.
- Monitor performance metrics, logs, alarms, and observability tools to maintain environment health.
- Manage data archival strategies, storage utilization, and retention policies.
- Implement and maintain security controls across OCI objects and services.
Performance, Availability & Continuity (15%)
- Conduct performance tuning across OCI resources and ATP databases.
- Implement resource optimization strategies and support capacity planning initiatives.
- Validate OCI backup and recovery processes to support business continuity and disaster recovery.
- Assist in the design, testing, and execution of failover procedures and recovery drills.
- Collaborate with security, database, and application support teams to ensure high availability, reliability, and security of OCI environments.
- Provide knowledge transfer and occasional technical training to team members.
- Stay current on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure tools, features, and roadmap updates.
- Recommend enhancements or changes to improve infrastructure performance and reliability.

Required Experience
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Administrator or equivalent role.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Expertise in managing OCI compute, storage, networking, and platform services.
- In-depth understanding of OCI architecture, including tenancy, compartments, identity domains, and resource organization.
- Proven experience administering and optimizing Autonomous Transaction Processing (ATP) databases.
- Strong experience with OCI networking components, including VCNs, subnets, gateways, routing tables, and load balancers.
- Experience performing environment refreshes from production to non-production environments.
