Department SummaryClassroom Technologies (formerly DSI Tech) supports UNT's Classrooms as well as distance education across the UNT Enterprise (Fort Worth, Dallas and System) with an expertise in AV, IT and Soft Codecs.
Position OverviewThis position is responsible for ownership of day today technical management including the designing, procuring, installing and maintaining of all components (digital, communications and other) in setting up large, complex buildings and rooms within the university. This position ensures the system and component specific choices meet the scalability and operational effectiveness needs of UNT.
Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering or related scientific or technical discipline and four years of related experience or any combination of education and experience.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Prior experience with specific systems, equipment and software may be specified as needed by department.
- Considerable knowledge of principles of computing and/or communications networks, and characteristics of computing hardware and software used in distributed environments.
- Ability to operate computer keyboards and to install computer hardware.
- Ability to assimilate, retain and utilize technical and applications-oriented information.
Bachelors Degree in related field and three years of related Integrated Systems experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Job Duties- Provide AV system designer services based upon DSI Tech and AV industry standards. Prepare the necessary documents that meet the requirements, procure appropriate technology that meet the requirements and provide resources for training end users.
- Provide subject matter expertise in the various system environments that can meet a variety of outcomes and project needs.
