Position: School Based Sign Language Interpreter, *Up to $50/hr, '26-'27

Provide sign language interpreting services for K-12 students in a school setting, ensuring effective communication during instruction and school activities. Support teachers and staff to facilitate inclusive learning environments. Deliver professional, confidential interpretation while meeting district policies and maintaining reliable attendance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide sign language interpreting for K-12 students during instruction and school activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff to ensure effective communication supports.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality while interpreting.
  • Support classroom participation by interpreting core content and facilitating understanding.
  • Participate in district onboarding, required trainings, and ongoing communication.
  • Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Additional coursework or credentialing in interpreting preferred.
    • Interpreter credential (e.g., NAD III or equivalent) or willingness to obtain required certification.
    • Minimum 1 year experience supporting students in a school setting, including one‑on‑one and small‑group support.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
    • Classroom management and professionalism.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with district policies.
    • Reliable transportation.
    • Adherence to district attendance expectations.
    • Background check and district onboarding requirements may apply.
