The Senior Logistics Coordinator serves as a leader within Ship Nova's Operations team, overseeing the successful execution of customer freight while helping maintain operational excellence across the department.

In addition to managing complex shipments and customer accounts, this individual mentors newer Logistics Coordinators, provides operational guidance, assists with training, and helps drive continuous improvement initiatives.

This position requires strong decision-making skills, exceptional communication, and the ability to remain calm under pressure while balancing multiple priorities.

• Coordinate and oversee shipments from pickup through final delivery
• Manage complex customer accounts and high-priority freight
• Monitor shipment performance and proactively resolve service issues
• Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and customers
• Negotiate with carriers to secure capacity while balancing service and cost
• Ensure shipment accuracy within the Transportation Management System (TMS)
• Review shipping documentation for completeness and compliance
• Identify potential shipment disruptions before they impact customers
• Handle escalated operational issues requiring advanced problem-solving
• Serve as a day-to-day resource for Logistics Coordinators
• Mentor and coach new team members
• Assist with onboarding and training initiatives
• Share best practices and operational knowledge
• Help establish consistency across the operations team
• Support workload balancing during periods of high volume
• Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, and customer service

• Identify opportunities to improve workflows and operational efficiency
• Assist leadership with implementing new processes
• Monitor service quality and operational performance
• Support reporting and performance tracking
• Recommend solutions that improve customer experience and team productivity
• Participate in cross-functional projects that strengthen operations

• High school diploma or GED
• Associate s or Bachelor s degree preferred
• 2+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, freight brokerage, or supply chain operations
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage customer freight
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Strong organizational and time management abilities
• Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and transportation management systems
• Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills

• Experience mentoring or training team members
• Experience managing high-volume customer accounts
• Freight brokerage or third-party logistics (3PL) experience
• Knowledge of truckload, LTL, expedited, and intermodal transportation
• Experience working with KPIs and operational reporting
