Position SummaryThe Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating daily freight operations while delivering exceptional service to customers and carrier partners. This entry-level position plays a vital role in ensuring shipments move efficiently from pickup through delivery while learning the transportation industry and Ship Nova's operational processes.
This role is ideal for someone beginning a career in logistics who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, solving problems, and building relationships. Successful candidates are organized, proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn.
What You'll Do- Coordinate freight shipments from pickup through final delivery
- Monitor shipment progress and proactively identify potential service disruptions
- Communicate shipment updates with customers, carriers, and internal teams
- Schedule pickup and delivery appointments
- Resolve shipment delays, service exceptions, and operational issues
- Maintain accurate shipment information within the Transportation Management System (TMS)
- Ensure all required shipping documentation is complete and organized
- Build relationships with carriers to support successful shipment execution
- Work closely with Account Managers and Sales to deliver an exceptional customer experience
- Assist with reporting, data entry, and operational tracking
- Learn industry best practices while continually expanding logistics knowledge
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
- 0-2 years of experience in logistics, transportation, customer service, operations, or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn
- Previous experience in freight brokerage, transportation, supply chain, or dispatch
- Experience working with customers or vendors
- Familiarity with transportation management software (preferred but not required)
