Location: Village on the Park Denton, an assisted living with memory care senior community
Pay Rate: $17/hr.
Full‑time schedule: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday‑Friday. Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Complete all assigned maintenance work orders and prepare vacant resident rooms as directed by the supervisor.
- Coordinate and assist with special projects as directed.
- Monitor work performed by outside contractors to ensure it meets company standards.
- Be available for 24‑hour emergency maintenance service as scheduled, carrying a pager or cell phone for on‑call duties.
- Perform cleaning tasks such as dusting, mopping, and ensuring all areas are tidy and functional.
- Install appliances and equipment as needed.
- Maintain the garden/yard, including mowing lawns and collecting trash.
- Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, painting, minor plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and minor HVAC repairs.
- Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems like ventilation to ensure they are working properly.
- Check the functionality of safety systems such as fire alarms.
- Work with other professionals during renovation projects to ensure everything is up to standard.
- Report any safety or maintenance issues to the Director of Plant Operations, Manager on Duty, and/or Executive Director.
- Ensure that safety standards comply with all company, local, city, state, and federal guidelines.
- Drive community vehicles to support resident needs.
- Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team.
- Maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene as per company policies.
- Take on other responsibilities as assigned with a positive attitude.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1–2 years of related experience.
- Experience with painting, drywall, and general unit make‑ready tasks.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Experience using hand and electric tools.
- Ability to read technical manuals and drawings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina and dexterity.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record that meets insurance standards.
