Check (Skin, Coat, Ears, Nails, Teeth) keeps dogs healthy and happy. We are opening a brand‑new Scenter in South Denton and searching for an entrepreneurial leader to build the pack from the ground up.
Position OverviewAs the Scenter Manager, you will be the driving force behind the success of this brand‑new location. In Phase1 (Pre‑Opening & Launch) your primary focus will be aggressive local membership sales and assisting with talent acquisition. In Phase2 (Post‑Opening & Ongoing Operations) you will assume operational and P&L responsibility, overseeing safety, client experience, scheduling, inventory, and coaching your team.
Key Responsibilities- Drive Membership Sales
:
Execute local grassroots marketing, follow up on digital leads, and maximize pre‑sales/Founding Member conversions. - Talent Acquisition
:
Assist with recruiting, hiring, and onboarding a high‑performing team of Groomers (Trimmers), Front Desk Associates (Member Associates), and Bathers (Scent Techs). - Pre‑Opening Readiness
:
Facilitate the opening training plan and certify all staff on safety and brand standards before the Grand Opening. - Scenter Profitability & Growth
:
Manage and optimize all Scenter Scorecard KPIs, including member retention, trial conversions, re‑book rates, and product add‑on sales. - Safety & Compliance Leadership
:
Maintain strict adherence to all Scenthound safety protocols; conduct daily safety walkthroughs, verify tool handling, and assess canine stress responses. - Team Leadership & Development
:
Lead daily huddles; manage career progression pathways for Front‑of‑Scenter and Back‑of‑Scenter teams using structured skill maps. - Operations & Schedule Optimization
:
Oversee daily schedule management in MyTime, handle payroll, review room checklists, audit cash handling, and manage membership cancellations or pauses. - Customer Experience
:
Act as the primary point of escalation for customer service issues, ensuring a reliable, trust‑building environment for dog parents.
- Experience
: 2–4years of successful management in retail, fitness, hospitality, or service industries. Experience with membership‑based sales models or the pet‑care industry is a major plus. - Sales Acumen
:
Proven track record of hitting sales targets, overcoming objections, and executing local community outreach. - Leadership Skills
:
Ability to recruit, motivate, and hold a diverse team accountable to performance and brand standards. - Dog Loving
:
Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes and breeds, and deeply committed to animal health and wellness. - Technical Savvy
:
Proficiency in cloud‑based booking software (MyTime experience a plus), CRM lead‑management tools, and basic dashboard metrics. - Operational Excellence
:
Exceptionally organized, self‑motivated, and able to manage administrative tasks (scheduling, ordering, inventory) while providing floor leadership.
- Competitive starting base salary of $50,000.
