Quality Control Technician

Acme Brick Company (a Berkshire Hathaway Company) is an organization of professionals in the manufacturing and building material distribution industry. We are seeking a "best in class" Quality Control Technician to perform analytical tests on samples, using instrumentation and equipment as well as performing calculations to measure such factors as purity, size and hardness, applying arithmetic. The ideal candidate has a natural ability to roll with the punches, being flexible to handle anything that might come their way. You will be a strong and reliable support to company operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned) This is a safety sensitive position. Determine consistency of measurements and color of product through mathematical formulas, processes and procedures; weights and measurements as instructed Test and conduct routine and non-routine analysis of raw materials, in-process, and finished products, using variety of testing devices and procedures to maintain product quality Use a variety of hand and power tools, electrical meters and handling equipment in performing duties Follow all required work safe practices including lock-out tag-out requirements and wearing of all required PPE in designated areas Skills and Experience Required for Success Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications and other standards Must be able to quickly identify materials Must be able to lift 25-50 pounds regularly Competencies Required for Success Integrity Self-Motivated Teamwork Demonstrated prioritization / time management skills Education High school diploma or equivalent;
