General DescriptionIn this role, you will work closely with the Marketing Manager to implement and promote the dining program at Texas Woman's University. Your responsibilities will include researching market needs, planning and brainstorming initiatives, promoting through various platforms, and executing marketing projects. Unlike a typical internship, you will spearhead multiple projects and can request assignments to broaden your knowledge base.
Requirements- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Customer service experience or knowledge
- Knowledge of social media platforms
- Strong interpersonal skills
- General interest and knowledge of marketing
- Knowledge of graphic design tools is a plus
- Prior marketing‑related experience is a plus
- Event planning and execution experience
- Assist with planning, organizing and hosting events
- Assist with Dine on Campus initiatives
- Contribute to social media calendar development and promotions
- Act as a brand representative
- Conduct marketing audits
- Perform general administrative tasks
- Complete Marketing Boot Camp
- Survey students to collect market research data
- Create marketing materials to multiple specifications
- Manage signage in various locations
- Assist in developing concepts, campaigns, and imagery to effectively communicate messages to the target market
- Manage website and social networking profile content
- Attend meetings and other events as required
- Demonstrate awareness, understanding, and skills for working in a diverse environment
- Learn how to create and implement a marketing plan
- Learn how to conduct market research and use it to expand audience or increase buy‑in
- Learn how to use multiple platforms and strategies to effectively promote a brand
This is a paid internship at $13.00 per hour. The position does not qualify for paid time off (PTO) or benefits such as medical, dental, vision, etc. Associates may be eligible for paid and/or unpaid time off in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Because this position requires service in an educational facility, there may be periods when work is not required (e.g., winter and summer breaks). Such periods may be unpaid and considered temporary layoffs. Work year‑round may be required based on business needs.
