Sharing Volunteer Development VISTA

Sharing Life located in Mesquite, Texas, a suburb of Dallas, is a multi‑service nonprofit committed to ending hunger and poverty. Our mission is to provide nutritious food and connect clients to programs and resources that help them build a better future.

We offer emergency financial assistance, clothing, educational programs, GED testing, job placements, financial coaching, medical equipment and other non‑food essentials. Volunteers play a crucial role in all of our services, from stocking pantry shelves to serving on our Board of Directors.

The Volunteer Program Development VISTA supports the Volunteer Manager, who oversees about 1,000 volunteers annually. The VISTA will:

• Modernize and streamline the volunteer program to benefit staff and volunteers.
• Clean up the volunteer database to identify and complete incomplete records.
• Reconnect with lapsed volunteers and engage current volunteers through new trainings and recognition events.
• Reduce turnover and increase volunteer activity.
