Rapid Response RN – Part Time, Rotating Shift

Work location: Texas Health Denton: 3000 N I-35 Denton, Texas 76201

Work hours: Part Time (24 Hour) Rotating Shift; 1 day shift (8 A‑8 P), 1 night shift (8 P‑8 A)

Here’s What You Need Education
  • Nursing Diploma required OR
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
Experience
  • 3 years as a Registered Nurse in Emergency and/or Critical Care Setting required
Licenses and Certifications
  • RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support upon hire required
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support upon hire required
  • PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support 90 days required
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training 60 days required
What You Will Do OPERATIONS & CLINICAL RESPONSE
  • Respond to emergency situations such as Codes, RRTs and Behavioral Health Emergencies
  • Respond to emergencies, rapid response or clinically complex events and serve as a clinical resource during emergency situations.
  • Engage in clinical team activities for midline and PICC line placement as appropriate.
CUSTOMER SUPPORT/ PATIENT EXPERIENCE
  • Respond to patient, visitor and physician concerns
  • Provide support during challenging interpersonal or care coordination situations and escalated concerns appropriately
  • Offer communication support to patients and families during difficult situations and engage appropriate leadership when escalation is needed
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT/ PROFESSIONAL ACCOUNTABILITY
  • Continuing professional education and growth through formal and informal means
  • Seek learning opportunities for professional growth and role enhancement
  • Continuously develop nursing knowledge and skills, including clinical decision‑making, critical thinking, and evidence‑based practice
QUALITY IMPROVEMENT
  • Assist in identifying ineffective and costly processes and take action to improve those processes
  • Incorporate evidence‑based practice and research to monitor and continuously impact outcomes
  • Provide evidence of participation in process improvement activities
FOUNDATIONAL SKILLS
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking – Knowledge of the decision‑making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability – Knowledge of successful approaches, tools, and techniques for dealing with changes and adapting to a changing environment; ability to adapt as needed.
  • Delegation – Ability to appropriately delegate tasks within the RN scope of practice and provide guidance to unlicensed personnel as needed.
