Plasma Center Nurse- LPN

Job Description

The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician to support plasma center operations.

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, education, and physical examination.
• Manage donor adverse events and review laboratory test results.
• Notify donors of unsuitable test results.
• Follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including standing orders and donor transport.
• Provide support for Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/ER.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS.

• High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Current licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
