Introduction

We are looking for a Nurse Manager of Labor and Delivery for the Medical City Dallas team. The role is part of HCA Healthcare’s advanced healthcare network.

Job Summary

The Nurse Manager of Labor and Delivery is responsible for all departmental functions supporting the hospital mission and goals. They develop and implement cost‑effective systems, manage fiscal and human resources, and maintain all requirements for staff nursing in Labor and Delivery. The position requires working with patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement departmental plans of care based on RN assessment.
  • Maintain required credentials and regulations to function as a staff nurse during high census or minimal staffing.
  • Manage personnel, payroll, budgets, capital, business planning, marketing, physician relations.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and clinical standards of Labor and Delivery practice.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited professional nursing school (advanced degree preferred).
  • Minimum five years of management experience, including supervision and resource allocation.
  • Labor and Delivery clinical experience and competency in L&D practice.
  • Current RN license in Texas (or compact license).
  • Current BLS provider (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
  • NRP certification within 3 months of hire.
  • Completion of AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course within 1 year (or documentation).
