Local Contract Nurse RN – Pre Op / PACU – Post Anesthesia Care

Salary: $32–53 per hour

Location: Denton, Texas

This position is for a local contract Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Pre‑Operative and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) duties in a day surgery setting. The RN will assess patients, create personalized care plans, monitor patient responses, and contribute to quality improvement efforts. The role requires clinical judgment, patient and staff education, adherence to Texas nursing laws, and promotion of safe, effective healthcare delivery.

• Assess patients, identify nursing diagnoses, and develop personalized care plans.
• Regularly assess patient responses and monitor recovery.
• Delegate tasks based on Texas nursing laws, patient conditions, and staff skills.
• Use clinical judgment to prioritize patient needs and adjust care plans.
• Track quality indicators, make evidence‑based adjustments, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Teach patients and staff; integrate education into care at all levels.
• Contribute to decision‑making and recognize others’ contributions.

• Minimum of one year of pre‑op/post‑op nursing experience.
• BLS (AHA) certification.
• RN license in Texas or compact state.
