This is a part-time day shift position, 7:00 am – 7:00 pm, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities
  • Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation in the medical record.
  • Administer prescribed medications, monitor for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action if medication adverse reaction occurs.
  • Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating needs, and resolving them.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring understanding by translating complex terminology.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
  • Associate Degree required at hire; BSN required within 24 months of hire into an RN position.
  • Current RN license in the State of TX or compact license.
  • Current BLS issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in an acute care hospital within the last three years.
  • Experience in orthopedics highly preferred.
  • Charge and/or supervisor experience preferred.
