Position Summary
The Staff Nurse (RN) is a registered professional nurse who prescribes, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices.

Job Duties / Responsibilities- Ensure that all staff members deliver care in accordance with the Standards of Care and Practice.
- Makes assignments that reflect the competence of staff and patient needs. Ensures that an assignment sheet is filled out every shift.
- Implement hospital policies and procedures and act as a resource to the staff.
- Responsibilities for compliance with the Joint Commission, state and regulatory standards and patient rights standards.
- Ensure Infection Control, Safety and Risk Management policies and procedures are consistently implemented.

Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required;
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility preferred.
LicensureCurrently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing.
Additional RequirementsMust pass a medication administration exam before administering medications. CPR certification and successful completion of Handle with Care and Verbal De-escalation including restraint and seclusion policies, within 30 days of employment and prior to assisting in restraining procedures.
