Registered Nurse (RN) Labor and Delivery (L&D) – Full‑Time Day Shift
Location:
Texas Health Denton, 3000 N I‑35, Denton, TX 76201
Work hours:
Full‑time days (7 a.m. – 7 p.m.), 3 × 12‑hour shifts (36 hrs/week) with weekend and holiday coverage.
- The Center for Women at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton is a Texas 10‑step facility with the “Best Place to Have a Baby” designation.
- Unit has 12 LDR beds, 2 OR suites, 3 private recovery rooms, 6 antepartum rooms, 4 private OB/ED beds, and 23 postpartum/newborn beds.
- Level III NICU with 16 beds in private rooms.
- Unit delivers an average between 175–200 patients per month.
- OB Hospitalist 24/7.
- Anesthesiologist dedicated to L&D 24/7.
- Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license upon hire required.
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire.
- IFM – Intermediate Fetal Monitoring within 12 months required.
- NRP – Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days of hire.
- NRPA – Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days of hire.
- CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days of hire.
- One year of experience as an RN or completion of an RN residency program required.
- One year of Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred.
- Delivers care to patients using the Nursing Process.
- Assesses the patient.
- Plans the care of the patient.
- Intervenes as appropriate.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
- Incorporates age‑specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others’ needs for information.
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter‑shift, inter‑hospital, and during out‑of‑hospital transfers.
