Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery (L&D) - Full-Time Day Shift

Registered Nurse (RN) Labor and Delivery (L&D) – Full‑Time Day Shift

Location:

Texas Health Denton, 3000 N I‑35, Denton, TX 76201

Work hours:

Full‑time days (7 a.m. – 7 p.m.), 3 × 12‑hour shifts (36 hrs/week) with weekend and holiday coverage.

L&D Department Highlights
  • The Center for Women at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton is a Texas 10‑step facility with the “Best Place to Have a Baby” designation.
  • Unit has 12 LDR beds, 2 OR suites, 3 private recovery rooms, 6 antepartum rooms, 4 private OB/ED beds, and 23 postpartum/newborn beds.
  • Level III NICU with 16 beds in private rooms.
  • Unit delivers an average between 175–200 patients per month.
  • OB Hospitalist 24/7.
  • Anesthesiologist dedicated to L&D 24/7.
Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license upon hire required.
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire.
  • IFM – Intermediate Fetal Monitoring within 12 months required.
  • NRP – Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days of hire.
  • NRPA – Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days of hire.
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days of hire.
  • One year of experience as an RN or completion of an RN residency program required.
  • One year of Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Delivers care to patients using the Nursing Process.
  • Assesses the patient.
  • Plans the care of the patient.
  • Intervenes as appropriate.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Incorporates age‑specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others’ needs for information.
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter‑shift, inter‑hospital, and during out‑of‑hospital transfers.
