• Conduct monitoring visits to Texas nursing facilities, assessing conditions that could pose risks to residents and providing recommendations for improvement.
• Prepare detailed narrative reports after each visit, including findings, actions taken, and recommendations.
• Serve as team coordinator on Rapid Response Team visits, observing, interviewing, and reviewing records to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement.
• Communicate complex clinical information to facility staff, administrators, and other stakeholders.
• Mentor, train, and supervise staff as needed during quality monitoring visits.
• Develop and revise program policies, procedures, and educational materials based on evidence‑based best practice.
• Maintain collaborative relationships across the Department and with external partners.

• Attend work on a regular schedule and perform duties assigned, collaborating across MCS for innovative solutions.
• Plan and perform technical assistance, research, policy review, and administrative activities during off‑site and on‑site visits.
• Gather and analyze data for visit preparation, determining focus areas and clinical topics.
• Observe and review resident records to ensure compliance with minimum standards and evidence‑based best practices.
• Provide in‑service education and training to facility staff on best‑practice practices.
• Document observations and recommendations in accurate reports.
• Coordinate and monitor facility systems during RRT visits, identifying changes and opportunities for improvement.
• Maintain current knowledge by attending training and reviewing program policies.
• Conduct literature reviews and update EBBP technical assistance materials.
• Provide orientation and supervision to peers as required.

This position requires a current Texas Registered Nurse license in good standing or a license from a state participating in the Nurse Licensure Compact in good standing. The role may require the use of a personal motor vehicle; a reliable vehicle, valid Texas driver’s license, and insurance are required.

• Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws related to long‑term care.
• Knowledge of modern office management practices and technology tools such as Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Teams.
• Knowledge of Medicaid, waiver programs, and long‑term care legislative processes.
• Skill in researching, analyzing, and evaluating complex clinical issues.
• Skill in communication and public speaking.
• Skill in managing multiple priorities and negotiating solutions.
• Skill in working collaboratively with diverse groups and resolving conflicts.
• Ability to interpret regulations and policies, and present information effectively.
• Ability to plan, assign, and supervise the work of others.
• Ability to conduct literature reviews and update evidence‑based practices.

• Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university with major coursework in nursing or an associate degree in nursing with at least two years of nursing experience.
• A minimum of 3 years of nursing experience.
• Experience working in Long‑Term Care Nursing Facilities is preferred.

Ability to lift 25 lbs. Requires 80% travel across Texas and overnight stays, including hours outside 8‑5 and days outside Monday‑Friday.
