Full-time nights, 36 hours weekly Department highlights:
The Center for Women at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton is a Texas 10-step facility with the "Best Place to Have a Baby" designation. Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team The unit has 23 beds Postpartum/Newborn, Couplet Care, 12 LDR beds, 2 OR suites, 3 private recovery rooms, 6 Antepartum rooms and 4 private OB/ED beds Level III NICU with 16 beds with private rooms The unit delivers an average between 175-200 a month.

OB Hospitalist 24/7 Anesthesiologist dedicated to L&D 24/7 Brand new Women's Tower that opened July 2022

Qualifications Nursing Diploma Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred RN
- Registered Nurse Upon Hire required BCLS
- Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Upon Hire required 1 Year Experience as a clinical nurse in an acute care setting required; 2 Years Experience as a clinical nurse in an acute care setting preferred Mother Baby experience preferred In addition to the required qualifications, a successful Charge RN will model the eight caring factors listed below.

The Charge Nurse role will support and actively participate in shared governance/councils which is Texas Health's structure for decision making. This role directly assists leadership on a particular unit or units and shift, by offering staff guidance and support, maintaining a clean and safe work environment and ensuring unit operational tasks are completed.

Individuals in this role will demonstrate: A commitment to developing their individual knowledge and skills, as well as advancing the profession of nursing and engaging in lifelong learning/development. Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization. An understanding of how to anticipate, recognize, and deal effectively with existing or potential conflicts at the individual, group, or situation level;

ability to apply this understanding appropriately to diverse situations. Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. Knowledge of successful approaches, tools, and techniques for dealing with changes and adapting to a changing environment; ability to adapt as needed Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
