Description:
The position involves working in a cardiac cath lab.
The unit includes two cath labs, one electrophysiology lab, and one interventional neuro lab.
There are seven staff members in the cath/electrophysiology lab and six in the interventional neuro lab.
The day shift consists of four techs and three RNs in the cath/electrophysiology lab, and three techs and three RNs in the interventional neuro lab.
Typically, staff work four 10-hour shifts with on-call duties.
Patient ratios are maintained at 1:1.Equipment utilized includes temporary pacemakers, intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impella, Penumbra, Shockwave, IVUS, IFR, and GE mac lab monitoring/invasive imaging.
The electronic medical record system used is Meditech.
Typical procedures performed include diagnostic and interventional heart catheterizations as well as interventional radiology procedures.
The best candidates will have an assertive personality.
Nurses are required to hold an RN license and ACLS certification.
Additional skills in electrophysiology, interventional radiology, or interventional neuro are preferred.
The position may involve floating to the emergency department or discharge lounge as needed within the skill set.
Rotating call after hours and weekends is part of the responsibilities, approximately 50% of the month.
