Travel RN - Med​/Surg

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring acute care med/surg experience and an active TX or compact RN license.

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care med/surg nursing experience required
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required

• Med/Surg unit with 43 beds and approximately 70 total staff
• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 1 unit secretary, 9-10 RNs, and 4 CNAs
• Night shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 9-10 RNs, and 4 CNAs
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6 during days and 1:6 during nights
• Uses Meditech EMR
• Unit cares for surgical patients including any type of surgery excluding cardiac and open neuro surgery
• 13-week assignment on 7P-7A night shift
• Self-scheduling allowed within reason to maintain a balanced schedule
• Rotating weekends required
• Floating required to Medical unit and ER to provide med/surg hold nurse capabilities
• Provide direct patient care on a busy surgical/orthopedic med/surg unit
• Work as part of a collaborative team and be willing to ask questions when unsure of unit processes
• Dress code requires royal blue scrubs
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
