Postdoctoral Research Associate - (Organic Chemistry and Homogeneous Catalysis)

We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position within the research group of Professor Xin Cui at the University of North Texas. The project focuses on exploring new approaches in catalysis and their applications in synthetic and medicinal chemistry. The postdoctoral scientist will conduct research in synthetic organic chemistry, organometallic chemistry, homogeneous catalysis, and asymmetric catalysis, provide instruction and mentorship to graduate and undergraduate students, and contribute to grant proposals and scientific publications.

- Design and execute research projects in catalysis, synthetic organic chemistry, and organometallic chemistry.
- Instruct and mentor graduate and undergraduate students in research projects.
- Contribute to the writing of peer‑reviewed publications and research proposals.
- Manage laboratory operations and ensure safe and effective workflows.
- Communicate with collaborators and exchange information as needed.
- Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or a closely related field.
- Strong background and hands‑on experience in synthetic organic chemistry, organometallic chemistry, and catalysis.
- Demonstrated productivity through peer‑reviewed publications.
- Excellent written and communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Experience in asymmetric catalysis or chiral synthesis.
- Experience in physical organic studies and inorganic synthesis.
- Demonstrated leadership or mentorship experience in a research setting.
- Communicate with others to exchange information.
- Lift and move objects up to 20 pounds.
- Walk or move from one work area to another as needed.
- Work with toxic or caustic chemicals.
Varies based on assignment.
