Retail Sales Associate - Part Time

Compensation & Commission

$10.00 to $14.00 per hour base pay. Employees may earn additional commission on sales transactions, potentially up to 8% of sales. The total hourly earning can average an additional $3.27 on top of the base rate.

Entry‑level, part‑time sales associate for pawnstore locations nationwide. The role works across both lending and retail functions, greeting and engaging customers, processing sales and loan transactions, and creating a positive customer experience. The associate may handle a variety of merchandise, including tools, electronics, and firearms (in FFL locations).

• Greet and interact with all customers to develop rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
• Perform non‑management open/close procedures.
• Keep the sales floor clean, stocked, and maintain merchandise displays.
• Process sales and loan transactions following established policies and regulatory requirements.
• Handle cash and negotiable items in accordance with policies.
• Answer incoming calls per company standards.
• Communicate legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
• Work effectively with coworkers and managers, displaying respect and using effective communication tools.
• Partner with all employees to create a positive and memorable customer experience.
• Successfully complete assigned training.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Willing and able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Willing and able to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Ability to work with firearms and obtain firearms certification.
• May be asked to assist customers outside the store or retrieve products from exterior storage areas.
• Minimum age 18 years old.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Strong desire to work, serve customers, and be team‑oriented.
• Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proficiency in basic math calculations.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Flexible to work in multiple locations as needed.
• Flexible to work a retail schedule based on business needs, including weekends and holidays.
• Computer literate and able to operate point‑of‑sale (POS) systems and common office machines.

Commission incentives are proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers may earn between 2% and 8% commission based on the gross profit of their personal performance. Detailed commission information will be provided during the interview process.
