Job Description
The Security Officer II is responsible for maintaining a secure and protective environment at the facility by observing and taking action, reporting incidents or security violations involving residents, and initiating emergency response as appropriate. Responsibilities include monitoring alarms and surveillance cameras, patrolling the buildings and grounds, checking badges or proper identification at the facility gate/entrance, and handling after‑hours emergency calls that enhance the safety of facility residents, employees, and visitors.
The officer disseminates and coordinates emergency responses and information, notifies facility management and law enforcement as appropriate, performs monthly fire extinguisher inspections in all buildings, identifies unfamiliar persons on campus and within the homes/buildings as captured on surveillance cameras and during routine patrols, ensures appropriate lighting for safety, may train other security officers, and works with individuals who have complex needs and may exhibit aggressive and/or self‑injurious behaviors.
The officer works under general supervision with moderate latitude for use of initiative and independent judgment. Decisions are based on well‑defined guidelines.
- Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency laws.
Salary: $3,100.00-$4,365.66 per month. Pay Frequency:
