Overview
Intex Electrical Contractors, Inc., located at 11981 Classic Lane, Forney, TX 75126, is hiring an E2-E4 Apprentice Electrician in Denton, TX 76201. The role involves installation, alterations, additions, and repairs of electrical systems, conductors, and related equipment within the electrical construction industry.
ResponsibilitiesPerforms routine tasks under direct supervision, demonstrating knowledge of electrical materials and tools, safe working habits, and proper care of tools and equipment.
- Conduit bending and installation
- Quality installation of trim out
- Wire pulling procedures
- Knowledge of tools and materials
- Wall rough in
- Fixture rough in
- Possess skills of lower E Rating Job Title (E2-E4)
- Positively identify colors of wires
- Read and interpret printing, schematics, and drawings
- Hand‑bend conduit with hand benders
- Use power tools: saws, threaders, wire tuggers, hydraulic benders, knockout punches
- Dig trenches using hand tools or power equipment
- Follow safety procedures as outlined in Company Safety Policy Handbook, Haz Comm Policy, and Lockout/Tagout Policy
- Operate two‑handed tools and equipment (cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jack hammers)
- Operate company trucks with manual and automatic transmissions
- Read and interpret maps, manuals, specifications, site directions, blueprints, and written instructions
- Operate mechanical lifts (electric or gas powered)
- Personal weight and tools cannot exceed ladder weight limits (Class 1 – 250 lb, Class 2 – 300 lb)
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead
- Lift 51 lb up to 20 times per day and move constantly on feet
- Climb ladders of all types and work at all elevations (ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, ditches)
- Complete full‑day assignments involving overhead work
- Transition between parking area or street and construction work areas, and access all building levels, even via OSHA‑approved site construction ladders or stairs under construction
- Good vision and hearing (normal or corrected)
- Secure tools and materials from storage areas to complete tasks
- Positively identify different colors of wiring
Work may be conducted indoors or outdoors while wearing required personal protective equipment at all times. Possible exposure to hot and cold temperatures, weather elements, dust, toxic materials, restricted or confined spaces, and slippery or uneven surfaces. Work at all elevations including ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, in ditches and excavations; works in and around single and multi‑story buildings with all exposures typical of a heavy construction site, including portable sanitary facilities.
