Job Overview
As an Electrician at Primoris Services Corporation, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment across various industrial and commercial projects. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical codes, safety procedures, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
Job Responsibilities- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems, components, and equipment, including wiring, conduits, panels, circuits, and fixtures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams to determine wiring layouts, optimal placement of equipment, and to identify potential issues.
- Perform inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems to ensure proper functioning and to identify and address potential hazards.
- Diagnose electrical malfunctions using testing devices such as ammeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes (e.g., NEC) and company safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople and project managers to coordinate electrical work with other construction activities.
- Prepare and maintain records of electrical repairs, maintenance, and installations.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited electrician apprenticeship program is preferred.
- Valid state Journeyman Electrician license is required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a qualified electrician in an industrial or commercial setting.
- Proven ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant electrical safety standards.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose complex electrical issues.
- Proficiency in using various electrical testing equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in various weather conditions.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record.
- OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification is a plus.
