As a CBRE Building Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of essential building infrastructure across our large-scale hospital campus in Denton, TX. We are seeking a proactive, technically skilled professional with a strong background in commercial HVAC systems and a commitment to operational excellence.
In this position, you will serve as a key contributor for facilities maintenance needs, requiring a balance of technical expertise and the interpersonal skills necessary to provide top-tier service to our hospital clients.
What You'll Do:
- Prioritize the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of critical HVAC infrastructure, including rooftop units and associated controls.
- Perform a wide range of general maintenance tasks, including plumbing repairs, drywall work, painting, and lighting ballast replacements.
- Execute both routine preventive maintenance schedules and emergency repairs to ensure building machinery and systems meet or exceed their expected service life.
- Efficiently manage and complete assigned work orders, ensuring documentation and resolution meet department standards.
- Maintain and repair mechanical, structural, furniture, fire/life safety, and control systems to ensure the facility adheres to all relevant building codes and safety regulations.
- Actively participate in the site's energy management program to ensure all building systems operate at peak efficiency.
- Strictly adhere to departmental policies regarding the storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all times.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
- Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
- Impact a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams.
- Work within broad guidelines and policies.
- Explain difficult or sensitive information.
What You'll Need:
- High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Universal CFC certification is preferred. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.
- Demonstrated technical expertise in maintaining and troubleshooting commercial HVAC systems.
- Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
- Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
- Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
