- Assists the work of music instruction in helping children and youth succeed in school by increasing their involvement and motivation; and helping them to set personal goals.
- Assists in training and development of campers for music instruction.
- Assists with appropriate lessons for instruction time.
- Reviews assigned homework with students and re-teaches skills if necessary.
- Assists students for recitals and presentations.
- Assists with the maintenance and daily operations of the program equipment.
- Makes sure discipline and acceptable behaviors of students are maintained, creating an atmosphere of friendliness and security during all program periods.
- Supervises and assists with an assigned group of campers during scheduled and unscheduled blocks of time in cooperation with camp rules and regulations.
- Promotes and stimulates participation of campers to ensure a pleasant camp experience.
- Participates and assists in various classes as assigned.
- Participates enthusiastically as a member of the camp staff team to deliver and supervise evening programs, special events, overnights and other all‑camp activities and camp functions.
- Sits with camper tables during meals and serves as a table monitor when needed.
- Keeps personal living quarters neat, clean and ready for inspection.
- Be available to participate and assist with camp programs and activities as directed by the Conservatory Director.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Performs ministry functions such as presenting approved devotional material to campers, praying with campers, or leading in Christian songs, etc.
- CPR and First Aid Certification
Some physical requirements of the Junior Music Instructor position could be endurance including climbing, standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Eye‑hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate equipment and activities are required. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. It is required to have willingness to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours delivering a program in the facility available.
Operate with daily exposure to the sun and heat and varying environmental conditions.
