Job Overview
This position involves operating various types of heavy equipment and commercial vehicles safely and efficiently to support construction and utility projects. The Operator will be responsible for transporting materials, operating machinery, and performing general labor tasks as needed.
Responsibilities- Operate commercial vehicles (e.g., dump trucks, flatbeds, tankers) to transport materials, equipment, and personnel to and from job sites in compliance with all DOT regulations.
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, trenchers, loaders, and other construction machinery, following all safety protocols and company procedures.
- Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections of vehicles and equipment; complete and maintain accurate daily logs and reports.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on assigned vehicles and equipment, and report any major malfunctions or necessary repairs to supervision.
- Assist ground crew with manual labor tasks, including digging, lifting, carrying, and securing loads, as required.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and governmental regulations (OSHA, DOT, etc.).
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, co‑workers, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment.
- Participate in safety meetings and training sessions as required.
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment in a construction, utility, or similar outdoor environment.
- Proven ability to safely and proficiently operate various types of heavy machinery.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and ability to maintain accurate driver logs.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all safety procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
