Heavy Equipment Operator & Maintenance Technician

18 MONTHS MINIMUM CDL DRIVING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Drives a heavy duty truck used in hauling materials. The truck is of tandem rear axle type, or a tractor pulling a trailer such as a Flowboy. May have various kinds of beds attached such as end dump, belly dump, flat bed, tank, etc. Hauls dirt, rock, aggregates, concrete or other material. May also be used for operation of water trucks.

Will require Texas CDL license for driving on highway. May service and make necessary adjustments for proper operation of equipment. Performs other related duties.

Requirements:

• Valid Commercial Drivers License
• Successful Completion of drug test and physical
• Acceptable MVR

Operates Asphalt Distributor for the construction of roads and highways.

Tack truck driver drives distributor truck, sets spray bars, and operates valves and lever to control distribution of bitimunous material for highway surfacing. May oil, grease, or otherwise service and make adjustments to equipment as needed. Performs other related duties.

Sets up and maintains traffic control for a variety of traffic control set ups including flagging operations and lane closures according to Texas Manual for TMUTCD (Texas Manual on Traffic Control Devices).

Assist in the placement, moving, and dismantling of signs, arrow boards, channelizing devices, barrels, barricades, cones and other traffic control devices.

Directs traffic in or around construction sites. Performs other related duties.

Preferred:

• Ability to drive TMA
• Traffic Control Technician Certification is a plus
• Traffic Control Supervisor Certification is a plus
• Ability to work nights

Works with asphalt crews performing various duties including clean up, shoveling, using tools, demolition work, unloading and transporting materials and tools, assisting in positioning, spotting, and signaling equipment, installing and maintaining erosion control devices, performing other related duties.

Equipment Operators:
Operates various heavy equipment in a safe manner, including asphalt paving machines, brooms or sweepers, backhoes, trackhoes, scrapers, front end loaders, reclaimers, rollers, and other asphalt paving or earth moving equipment. May clean or grease, service or adjust equipment. Operates valves or levers, controls movement of the machines to aid in the construction of asphalt roads. Performs other related duties.

Requirements:

• Asphalt experience
• Successful completion of drug test and physical

Motor Grader Operator's duties include safely operating motor grader in various applications for the construction of highways, roads, and bridges. Uses motor grader to grade excavation and embankment to lay asphalt and other materials. May perform finish grade work to bluetops or close specifications. Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years experience required. Experience with grade & multi-equipment desired.
